Snake

Snake is the story of a dysfunctional marriage.  Rex is a simple man; all he wants when he returns from World War II is to own a farm and have a loving wife at his side.  Unfortunately, Irene is not suited to the hard life of farming Australia's countryside.  As she pulls further away from Rex, Irene commits one betrayal after another and their life together begins to unravel.

Quote:
"These were people so certain of their own superiority they need not remark on it; in their complacency, they resembled well-stuffed sofas."
